Behind the report

How face analysis works.
And where it has limits.

A useful report should be clear about its source. Here is what Betters.life does with a photo, how the scores work and how to use the feedback thoughtfully.

What the analysis does

Betters.life sends your uploaded photo to an AI vision model with instructions to assess visible facial proportions, hair, skin appearance and facial hair. The model returns a structured report with category scores, observations and grooming suggestions.

The app organises that response into the report you see. This is an interpretation of an image, not a direct anatomical measurement or an in-person assessment. The model can overlook details, misinterpret a feature or produce advice that does not fit you.

What the numbers mean

Category scores are model-generated estimates on a 0–10 scale. If an overall score is provided, the app displays it; otherwise it averages the available category scores and rounds to one decimal place. A beard category marked absent or clean-shaven is excluded from that fallback average.

The scores do not represent a population percentile or a universal standard of attractiveness. We do not publish a clinically validated accuracy rate, a representative benchmark or a measurement margin of error. A decimal score should not be read as that level of measurement precision.

How the photo affects the result

Lighting, camera angle, distance, expression, framing and filters change what is visible in a photo. These changes, as well as variation in model output, can affect observations and scores. A single front-facing image also leaves other angles unseen.

For repeat scans, keep your setup similar and compare the images and written observations together. A change in score alone does not establish that your appearance improved or declined. If a detail is hidden or unclear, the report may leave it unassessed or get it wrong.

How to use the recommendations

Treat recommendations as ideas to evaluate against your preferences, hair texture, budget and maintenance routine. A barber can help adapt a haircut suggestion after seeing your hair in person. You do not need to follow every recommendation or pursue a higher score.

The report is not a medical diagnosis. It cannot confirm skin disease, hair loss or another health condition from a photo. Seek qualified professional advice for concerns that need clinical assessment rather than relying on an automated report.

Sample reports and editorial responsibility

The public sample report uses illustrative scores and recommendations to show the format. It is not a customer testimonial, a verified result or an endorsement by the person pictured.

Our guides are published by Betters.life and explain the product and practical ways to use its feedback. They do not claim independent clinical review. Published and updated dates reflect the guide's editorial history; a new build does not automatically change them.

Personal reports and data handling

Your uploaded photo and generated result are stored for your account. Personal report pages require authentication and are excluded from the public sitemap. Sign-in, checkout and administration pages also carry instructions against indexing.

The public site is available for search engines to crawl. Our privacy policy explains the services involved in processing, account data and requests relating to your data. Search engine exclusions are separate from access controls.
